The Fundamental Principle

Four sizes. Every foot.

Most shoes need thirteen sizes because they're built rigid. The chappal was never built that way. Two crossed straps and a buckle mean the shoe adjusts to your foot rather than the other way around; narrow, wide, high-arched, it closes to you.

Whole size? Take it. Half size? Take the size up and draw the strap in. That's the design working.

The cork footbed does the rest — it takes the shape of your foot over the first few wears and keeps it.

How To Measure Foot Length

How to measure

Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall. Mark the tip of your longest toe. Measure from the wall to the mark in centimetres. Do both feet — most people have one slightly longer — and use the larger number.

Our sizing runs open

These are open-construction sandals, so there's roughly half a size of room at the toe and another half at the heel. If you wear a full size, stay with it. If you're a half size — a 10.5, say — go up to the next whole size.

Narrow or wide feet

The straps flex. The leather softens and takes the shape of your foot over the first few weeks, and the cork footbed moulds underneath. Width is rarely the problem; length is.

If it's wrong

Free size exchanges for 15 days, any size, worldwide. We'd rather swap it than have you keep a pair that doesn't fit.
